1. DEFINITIONS

Term

Meaning

"4Cs"

The four internationally recognized grading parameters for diamonds: Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat Weight.

"Carat Weight"

A unit of measurement for diamond mass. One carat equals 0.2 grams. Total Carat Weight (TCW) refers to the aggregate weight of all diamonds in a jewellery piece.

"Certificate" / "Report"

The document issued by IGI, GIA, or GSI following laboratory examination of a diamond or jewellery piece, setting out the assessed grading parameters.

"IGI"

International Gemological Institute — an independent gemological laboratory that issues grading reports for natural and lab-grown diamonds and jewellery.

"IGI Diamond Report"

An IGI grading report issued for a single loose or mounted natural diamond, assessing the 4Cs (Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat Weight) and other characteristics.

"IGI Jewellery Report"

An IGI report issued for a complete jewellery piece, confirming diamond quality, metal purity, and overall jewellery specifications. Used where individual diamond grading is not provided.

"IGI Lab Report"

An IGI report issued specifically for a lab-grown diamond, confirming its laboratory origin and grading parameters.

"GIA"

Gemological Institute of America — an internationally recognized independent gemological laboratory that establishes global diamond grading standards and issues grading reports primarily for natural diamonds.

"GIA Diamond Report"

A GIA grading report issued for a single loose or mounted natural diamond, providing an independent assessment of the 4Cs (Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat Weight), along with other identifying characteristics and grading information.

"GIA Jewellery Report"

A GIA report issued for a finished jewellery piece, describing the jewellery item and assessing the characteristics of the mounted diamond(s) where applicable. Availability of this report depends on the jewellery type and GIA's reporting services.

"GIA Laboratory Report"

A GIA grading report issued by the Gemological Institute of America for eligible diamonds, documenting the grading results, identifying characteristics, and authenticity of the diamond in accordance with GIA grading standards.

"GSI"

Gemological Science International — an independent gemological laboratory that issues grading and identification reports for natural and lab-grown diamonds and jewellery.

"GSI Diamond Report"

A GSI grading report issued for a single loose or mounted natural diamond, assessing the 4Cs (Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat Weight) and other identifying characteristics in accordance with GSI grading standards.

"GSI Jewellery Report"

A GSI report issued for a complete jewellery piece, confirming diamond quality, metal type and purity, and overall jewellery specifications. Used where individual diamond grading is not provided.

"GSI Lab Report"

A GSI report issued specifically for a lab-grown diamond, confirming its laboratory origin and grading parameters, and clearly distinguished in appearance from GSI's natural diamond reports.

"Lab-Grown Diamond"

A diamond produced through controlled technological processes (CVD or HPHT) that replicate the natural diamond growth environment. Chemically, physically, and optically identical to a natural diamond.

"Melee Diamonds"

Small diamonds, typically below 0.20 carats, used as accent diamonds in jewellery. Graded by size range and quality category rather than individually.

"Natural Diamond"

A diamond formed naturally in the earth over geological time. Extracted through mining processes.

2. CERTIFICATION PROVIDERS — IGI, GIA & GSI

2.1 Aarunya provides diamond certification issued by internationally recognised independent gemological laboratories, including the International Gemological Institute ("IGI"), the Gemological Institute of America ("GIA"), and Gemological Science International ("GSI"), depending on the specific diamond or jewellery product. Each certificate is issued solely by the respective laboratory following its own grading standards and examination procedures.

2.2 IGI, GIA, and GSI operate independently of Aarunya. All assessments, grades, opinions, and reports are the product of the respective laboratory's own examination processes and professional judgment. Aarunya does not direct, influence, or have any commercial arrangement with any of these laboratories that affects the content of any grading report.

2.3 Aarunya supplies certificates exactly as issued by the relevant certification laboratory. Aarunya does not independently re-grade, verify, or certify diamonds, and does not warrant the accuracy of any grading assessment beyond providing the original report issued by the applicable laboratory.

2.4 The certification laboratory applicable to each product will be identified on the respective Product Page, Product Certificate, or accompanying documentation. Where no grading certificate is included with a product, this will be clearly disclosed in the product description.

IMPORTANT — GRADING REPORTS ARE THE ISSUING LABORATORY'S INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT

The grading report accompanying an Aarunya product represents the professional grading opinion of the applicable certification laboratory, including IGI, GIA, or GSI, at the time of examination. Gemological grading involves a combination of expert human judgment and scientific analysis, and slight variations in grading opinions between different laboratories, or even between separate examinations of the same diamond, are recognised within the gemological industry. The grading report is provided to assist the Customer in understanding the quality characteristics of the diamond and should not be interpreted as a warranty or guarantee of absolute precision or future grading outcomes.

4.2 Where applicable, the relevant IGI, GIA, or GSI Jewellery Certificate/Report is included with the product and delivered to the Customer together with the jewellery as part of the shipment. Customers are advised to retain the original certificate, as it may be required for future warranty claims, servicing, exchanges, upgrades, buyback requests, or other after-sales services, where applicable.

5. MELEE DIAMONDS — GRADING DISCLOSURE

5.1 Many jewellery pieces — including pavé rings, eternity bands, and halo settings — contain multiple small accent diamonds, typically referred to as melee diamonds (generally below 0.20 carats per diamond).

5.2 Melee diamonds are not individually certified by IGI, GIA, or GSI. They are graded by Aarunya's suppliers by size range and quality category (for example, "G-H, SI1-SI2 range"), rather than by individual diamond assessment. This is standard practice in the international jewellery industry.

5.3 Where a product contains melee diamonds, the product page will disclose:

  • the approximate quality range of the melee diamonds (e.g., colour range and clarity range);
  • the total carat weight of all melee diamonds in the piece (which is an aggregate approximate figure); and
  • whether the melee diamonds are natural or lab-grown.

5.4 Total Carat Weight (TCW) disclosed for multi-diamond jewellery is an approximate aggregate figure. Individual diamond weights within the piece may vary within accepted industry tolerances. Such variations do not constitute a discrepancy or defect.

WHY MELEE DIAMONDS ARE NOT INDIVIDUALLY CERTIFIED

Individual IGI / GIA / GSI grading of every small accent diamond in a multi-diamond jewellery piece is operationally impractical — a single pavé ring may contain 30 to 50 small diamonds. The industry-standard approach is category grading by size range and quality range. An IGI, GIA, or GSI Jewellery Certificate for the piece as a whole confirms the overall quality specifications of the melee diamonds used, which is a reliable and accepted assurance of quality.

6. THE 4Cs — DIAMOND GRADING PARAMETERS

Aarunya discloses the 4Cs grading for all certified diamonds on the relevant product page. The following explanations are provided for the benefit of Customers:

The "C"

Scale / Range

What It Measures

Cut

Ideal / Excellent / Very Good / Good / Fair / Poor

How well the diamond's facets interact with light. Cut is the most significant determinant of a diamond's brilliance and sparkle. An Excellent or Ideal cut maximizes light return.

Colour

D (colourless) to Z (light yellow/brown)

The degree of colour or lack thereof in a diamond. D–F are colourless; G–J are near-colourless. The closer to D, the rarer and more valuable the diamond.

Clarity

FL / IF / VVS1 / VVS2 / VS1 / VS2 / SI1 / SI2 / I1 / I2 / I3

The presence and size of internal inclusions and external blemishes. FL (Flawless) is the highest grade. SI1–SI2 grades may contain inclusions visible under 10× magnification but are generally eye-clean.

Carat Weight

Expressed in carats (ct) — e.g., 0.50ct, 1.00ct

The weight of the diamond. One carat = 0.20 grams. Larger diamonds of equal quality are rarer and more valuable. Carat weight alone does not determine beauty.

7. PRODUCT PAGE DISCLOSURES

7.1 For every diamond jewellery product listed on the Website, the following information is disclosed on the product page:

  • Whether the diamonds are natural or lab-grown;
  • Total Carat Weight (TCW) of the diamonds in the piece;
  • 4Cs grading (or quality range for melee diamonds) of the primary diamond(s);
  • Type of certificate accompanying the product, and the issuing laboratory — IGI, GIA, or GSI (Diamond Report, Lab Report, or Jewellery Certificate);
  • Metal type and purity (e.g., 18K yellow gold, 18K white gold, 18K rose gold);
  • Gross weight of the piece; and
  • Country of Origin: India.

7.2 Product photographs are taken under controlled lighting conditions and may be digitally enhanced or magnified for visual clarity. The actual appearance of the diamond in the jewellery piece — including its brilliance and fire — will depend on ambient lighting conditions and the viewer's own perception. Product photographs do not constitute a warranty of exact visual appearance.

8. VERIFICATION OF CERTIFICATES

8.1 Customers who wish to independently verify the certificate accompanying their Aarunya product may do so through the official verification service of the applicable certification laboratory.

IGI Report Verification: https://www.igi.org/verify-your-report

GIA Report Check: https://www.gia.edu/report-check-landing

GSI Report Verification: https://www.gemscience.net — "Verify Your Report"

8.2 Each IGI, GIA, or GSI certificate carries a unique Report Number. Customers may verify the certificate by visiting the applicable laboratory's official verification portal and entering the Report Number printed on the certificate. The verification service will display the grading information recorded by the respective certification laboratory for the relevant diamond or jewellery report.

8.3 Certificate verification confirms the grading information maintained in the records of the issuing certification laboratory. It does not constitute a re-grading, re-certification, or a new assessment of the diamond or jewellery. Customers seeking an independent re-evaluation may submit the item to the issuing laboratory or another recognised independent gemological laboratory in accordance with that laboratory's applicable procedures.

8.4 For eligible diamonds, the Report Number may also be laser inscribed on the diamond's girdle. Where such inscription is present, it enables verification of the correspondence between the diamond and its accompanying certificate. The availability of laser inscription depends on the grading policies and eligibility criteria of the issuing certification laboratory.

9. REPLACEMENT OF LOST OR DAMAGED CERTIFICATES

9.1 IGI, GIA, and GSI certificates are important documents, and Customers are advised to retain them carefully. Each certificate corresponds to a specific diamond or jewellery item identified by the unique Report Number assigned by the issuing certification laboratory.

9.2 Where an IGI, GIA, or GSI certificate is lost, damaged, or destroyed, the Customer may request a replacement or reissue (where available) directly from the respective certification laboratory in accordance with its applicable policies and procedures. Any fees for replacement, reissue, or related services shall be payable directly to the issuing laboratory. Aarunya does not process certificate replacement or reissue requests.

9.3 Where the issuing certification laboratory provides a replacement or reissued certificate, such certificate shall be considered as valid as the original in accordance with the laboratory's policies. For eligible diamonds, the Report Number may also be laser inscribed on the diamond's girdle, enabling verification of the correspondence between the diamond and its certification record even where the original physical certificate is unavailable.

10. PRODUCT AUTHENTICITY COMMITMENT

10.1 Aarunya commits to the following standards for every product sold on the Website:

Commitment

Standard

Genuine Diamonds

All diamonds described as diamonds, whether natural or laboratory-grown, are genuine diamonds as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and recognised by internationally accepted gemological standards, including those of IGI, GIA, and GSI. Aarunya does not describe simulants, including cubic zirconia, moissanite, glass, or other diamond substitutes, as diamonds.

No Undisclosed Treatments

Any natural or laboratory-grown diamond that has undergone clarity enhancement, colour treatment, or any other permanent or temporary treatment affecting its appearance or grading characteristics will be expressly disclosed by Aarunya and, where applicable, reflected in the accompanying IGI, GIA, or GSI certification report. Untreated natural diamonds are not subjected to undisclosed enhancements.

Accurate Grading Disclosure

The 4Cs and other quality parameters disclosed on the Product Pages reflect the grades and specifications stated in the accompanying IGI, GIA, or GSI certificate, as applicable. Aarunya does not alter, inflate, misrepresent, or otherwise modify the grading information issued by the respective certification laboratory.

Accurate Metal Purity

The gold purity of every product is as stated on the product page and is verified through BIS hallmarking. No product is sold as a higher purity than its actual composition.

No Substitution

The diamond and jewellery product dispatched to the Customer is the same product whose specifications are described by Aarunya and whose accompanying IGI, GIA, or GSI certificate, as applicable, is included with the shipment. Aarunya does not substitute diamonds, gemstones, or jewellery products at any stage between final quality inspection and dispatch.

10.2 Where a Customer has a reasonable basis to believe that the product received does not correspond to the specifications described by Aarunya or to the accompanying IGI, GIA, or GSI certificate, as applicable, the Customer should contact Aarunya at info@aarunya.co within 48 hours of delivery, providing photographs and any other reasonable evidence of the alleged discrepancy. Aarunya will investigate the matter promptly and, where appropriate, provide a remedy in accordance with its applicable policies and the Customer's statutory rights.

10.3 Natural diamonds sold by Aarunya are sourced from suppliers who provide Kimberley Process Certification Scheme ("KPCS") documentation confirming that the diamonds are from conflict-free sources. The KPCS is an international certification scheme administered under United Nations Resolution 55/56 to prevent the trade of conflict diamonds. Aarunya requires KPCS documentation from its natural diamond suppliers as a condition of procurement.

10.4 Lab-grown diamonds are produced in controlled laboratory environments and do not involve diamond mining. Lab-grown diamonds sold by Aarunya are sourced from accredited laboratory producers. Aarunya does not make representations about the specific carbon footprint or environmental impact of individual lab-grown diamonds, as production methods and energy sources vary by facility.

11. LIMITATIONS & DISCLAIMERS

11.1 Natural diamond characteristics, including inclusions, surface features, colour nuances, and fluorescence, are inherent characteristics of the diamond and do not constitute defects. Where applicable, these characteristics are recorded in the accompanying IGI, GIA, or GSI certificate, as issued by the relevant certification laboratory, and shall not constitute grounds for return, replacement, or dispute solely by reason of their presence.

11.2 Diamond colour and brilliance as perceived by the eye depends on ambient lighting, the viewer's own colour perception, and the specific characteristics of the diamond. Product photographs, even when accurate, may not precisely replicate the visual experience of the physical jewellery.

11.3 Carat weight tolerances: for multi-diamond jewellery, total carat weight is an approximate aggregate disclosed to two decimal places. Individual diamond weights within the piece may vary, which is standard in fine jewellery manufacturing.

11.4 Aarunya's authenticity commitment in Clause 10 constitutes a commercial commitment. Customers retain all statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in the event of a verified discrepancy between the product specifications described and the product delivered.

12. POLICY AMENDMENTS

Aarunya reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time to reflect changes in certification standards, product offerings, or applicable law. Revised versions will be published on the Website with an updated effective date.
